The UFC has hired rapper Snoop Dogg to serve as a commentator for a new live fight series that is scheduled to debut July 11.

According to ESPN.com's Brett Okamoto, Snoop Dogg will team up with former bantamweight contender Urijah Faber to comprise one of broadcast teams for Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series, which will stream live on UFC Fight Pass.

"I'm a big fan of UFC and looking forward to joining the team to bring my unique take on all the action," Snoop Dogg said in a press release Friday. "Y'all in for a brand-new experience with Dogg on the mic."

According to the release, the UFC will make its SnoopCast available as a secondary feed. There will also be a conventional broadcast team that will call the action on a separate stream.

"Snoop and I have wanted to do something together for a long time,” UFC President Dana White said. "He's a huge fight fan and wanted to call fights. This is a fun opportunity for fans to opt into SnoopCast and hear his take along with Urijah Faber on how the fights are going."
