LAS VEGAS – Nina Ansaroff took advantage of reckless aggression from Justine Kish throughout their UFC 195 bout, but it wasn’t enough for the judges, who saw the fight unanimously in the opposite direction.

The women’s strawweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC 195 event at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following additional prelims on UFC Fight Pass and ahead of a main card on pay-per-view.

Kish (5-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) rushed forward to start the bout but Ansaroff (6-5 MMA, 0-2 UFC) tagged her multiple times, making her pay for her aggression. Kish landed a poke to the eye moments later, leading a a break in the action. Once the fight resumed, Ansaraoff continued to take the fight over with sharper striking while Kish rushed forward recklessly.

Kish did have her moments, however, throwing some very heavy kicks to the legs, but usually eating a punch or a body kick in return. Ansaroff side-stepped a rush from Kish and cracked her with a heavy right hand.

Ansaroff continued the attack in Round 2, utilizing the straight forward rush and available chin of Kish to land heavy punches and slide to the side and out of danger. Kish again had her best moments early in the round with leg kicks but again got cracked with a heavy counter right and left. A head kick from Ansaroff staggered Kish and left her trying to put the fight on the ground and slow the action down.

Kish managed to score a takedown into side control in the later part of the round, but really did nothing with the position before the horn signifying the end of the round.

Ansaroff, seemingly on a mission to best Kish in everything she did in the fight, scored a takedown early in Round 3 before working some strikes from the top. Ansaroff moved to side control but lost position and Kish got to her feet with roughly half of the round remaining. Kish scored a takedown on the exhausted Ansaroff and moved to back control only to end up back on the bottom as the fight came to a close.

While Kish seemed largely ineffective in her aggression in the opening two rounds, the judges handed her the unanimous decision by scores of 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28.

The loss was the second in a row for Ansaroff while Kish remained undefeated in her young career.
