It appears that retirement from the UFC at a young age is becoming a bit of a trend. Frankie Perez retired at the age of 26 following his first ever UFC victory at UFC Fight Night 74 and now Jordan Mein has hung up his gloves at the young age of 25.

The news was announced by Ariel Helwani during UFC Tonight.

Mein (29-10 MMA, 3-2 UFC) may only be 25 years old, but he’s a well-traveled veteran of the sport with 39 professional bouts and a career that began on June 17, 2006.

The Canadian spent time in Strikeforce and the UFC, walking away with a winning record in both promotions. His three losses in the promotions came against highly regarded fighters Tyron Woodley, Matt Brown and Thiago Alves.

The loss to Alves was Mein’s final bout, a TKO via body kick that came at UFC 183 in January. The loss snapped a two-fight winning streak for Mein.
