TUF 20 Finale results: Angela Hill dominates Emily Kagan in one-sided fight

LAS VEGAS – In a meeting of early flameouts on “The Ultimate Fighter 20,” Angela Hill ran roughshod over veteran Emily Kagan, battering her over three rounds to secure an easy decision win.

Kagan (3-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) succeeded early on in taking away Hill’s weapons in muay Thai, but as the fight progressed, Hill (2-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) was able to keep the fight where she wanted and take control of momentum.

The women’s strawweight bout opened the preliminary card of today’s The Ultimate Fighter 20 Finale event at The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass ahead of additional prelims and a main card on FOX Sports 1.

The final scores were 30-26 twice and 30-27, reflecting Hill’s complete dominance in the cage, particularly in the later rounds, when she landed dozens of knees that badly hurt Kagan and opened a cut over her right eye that bled generously.

Kagan smothered Hill against the cage in the opening frame. She was unable, however, to do much more than that as Hill resisted takedown attempts and escaped to let her punches and kicks go. A right hand dropped Kagan in the first, and a knee in the second staggered her again.

Hill improves to 2-0 as a pro after a submission loss to “TUF 20? finalist Carla Esparza on the reality show. Kagan, who was outpointed by Joanne Calderwood, goes back to the drawing board.
