Injured UFC featherweight Matt Grice is showing signs of improvement from a recent auto accident.
Grice was admitted to the Oklahoma University Medical Center in critical condition nearly two weeks ago following a car accident in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma.
In addition to his mixed martial arts career, Grice is also an Oklahoma City police officer. The accident occurred while he was off duty and sitting at a red light on Sept. 8, when another car slammed into the back of his vehicle.
He was rushed to the medical center where he underwent brain surgery that night.
Grice has yet to wake up, but his manager, Daniel Rubenstein, told UFC Tonight on Wednesday that Grice is now breathing on his own, is responding to verbal cues, and there is movement in his arms and legs.
There has been a Matt Grice Donation Fund set up at HopeMob.org. There has currently been more than $20,000 raised in support of Grice and his family.
