The UFC took to Calgary on Wednesday for a “major announcement,” which most expected would be the announcement of UFC 149 on July 21 at the ScotiaBank Saddledome in Calgary . That was accurate, but only partially so. UFC president Dana White took to the stage to not only announce the promotion’s first event in Calgary, but he also revealed that UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo would defend his belt in the evening’s main event.
