Round 1
Magalhaes opens up with a kick to the lead leg of the southpaw
Means, then circles out of the range of the taller man. Means looks
for straight punches and denies a long shot from the Brazilian with
a big knee. Another knee lands the next time “Trekko” comes inside,
then another. The next one lands square on Magalhaes’ jaw and sends
him stumbling backward to the floor. Means pounces and looks to
lock up a choke, but Magalhaes sweeps swiftly out of danger. Back
on the feet, it’s not going any better for Magalhaes, who keeps
absorbing knees and jabs from the American. Means closes out the

his feet. Another rib-roaster fells Magalhaes; Means won’t follow
him to the ground and motions for a standup with less than two
minutes to go. Magalhaes grabs another single-leg and eats a series
of hard, horizontal elbows to the temple. Magalhaes goes down and
Means wants him back up. Magalhaes is slow to rise and ref Bo
