Sherdog.com confirmed the news with NSAC head Keith Kizer on Friday. The commission met this morning at 9 a.m. in Las Vegas.
This marks the third victory for proponents of cage-side monitors in the last several weeks, as the UFC was previously approved to use the judging aid in both Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and Philadelphia for UFC 131 and UFC 133, respectively. UFC 130 will mark the first time the promotion has used cage-side monitors in Nevada, as the promotion has previously only used monitors in California. Monitors are equipped with a movable arm that allows judges to view them when necessary and move them out of the way when they choose to view the action directly.
UFC 130 will be headlined by a light heavyweight scrap between former 205-pound king Quinton Jackson and standout wrestler Matt Hamill. Also featured will be a pair of pivotal heavyweight showdowns, as Frank Mir collides with Roy Nelson while Stefan Struve faces Travis Browne.
