On Monday Georges St-Pierre told Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour that his contract with the UFC has been terminated and he's now a free agent. But the UFC is stating that is not the case. They sent out the statement: "Georges St-Pierre remains under an existing agreement with Zuffa, LLC as his MMA promoter" Zuffa intends to honor its agreement with St-Pierre and reserves its rights under the law to have St-Pierre do the same." Quinton "Rampage" Jackson had somewhat of a similar dispute with Bellator in 2014 when it was announced that he'd be fighting in the UFC again but Bellator president Scott Coker intervened and said:Let us be clear that "Rampage" is under an exclusive contract with #BellatorMMA. We will protect our contractual rights." It ended up becoming a legal battle where Rampage said that Bellator didn't honor his contract so that's why he signed with the UFC, but Bellator was able to initially get him out of his UFC fight with Fabio Maldonado, but that would be overturn
