In this video I show a popular submission from the Turtle position, the Japanese Necktie. One of my previous students was very good at this technique but I always struggled with it. I recently saw a demonstration of this move where I realized I had been looking at the spacing incorrectly. In this video I try to show you exactly where to position your body. Lastly, when you go to finish this move make sure that you push with your belly on the back of the head. This should be a clean choke and not a neck crank. Play with it until you understand the spacing. On another note, my leg placement in this video can lead to you getting knee barred if you don't watch out. Although the pulling of the ankle out kills that possibility, it's important for you to understand that it could happen during the initial insertion of the ankle between their legs, so beware!
