Northern Nevada's premier cage fighting event returned as Ultimate Reno Combat 38 premiered on GFL, at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. The card was an explosives one with finishes in 7 of 8 bouts. Voted the #1 Amateur MMA Event in the Nation, URC always showcases the top up and coming fighters from around Nevada and California.
In the main event, for the URC Heavyweight Championship, Anthony "The Joker" McDonald (5-6) defeated Terrell Bosen (5-2) via TKO in round one to win the title. It was what you would expect from these two goliaths as both men came out swinging looking to knock the other one out. McDonald landed a high kick and a front kick that had Bosen backpedaling. Then McDonald lunged in with punches dropping Bosen and followed Bosen to the mat where McDonald continued to throw a series of punches until the ref stopped the fight only a minute in.
