'UFC Fight Night 59: McGregor vs. Siver' lineup set as Taylor replaces Philippou

The lineup for the UFC’s next event, “UFC Fight Night 59: McGregor vs. Siver,” is again set with newcomer Louis Taylor joining the main card.

As MMAjunkie first reported this past week, Costas Philippou (13-4 MMA, 6-3 UFC) was forced out of his bout with Uriah Hall (9-4 MMA, 2-2 UFC) due to a rib injury, and middleweight newcomer Taylor (11-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has stepped in as a replacement.

UFC officials made the announcement over the weekend.

Featuring a featherweight headliner between Conor McGregor and Dennis Siver, UFC Fight Night 59 takes place Jan. 18 at Boston’s TD Arena. The bulk of the card airs on FOX Sports 1 following a pair of UFC Fight Pass prelims.

Taylor, who’s had brief stints with Strikeforce and Bellator, is currently riding a four-fight winning streak with five victories in his past six fights. All of the wins have come via stoppage. Most recently, the Chicagoan submitted recent UFC fighter Brian Houston at APFC 17 in October.

Hall, “The Ultimate Fighter 17? runner-up, recently halted a two-fight skid with back-to-back wins over Chris Leben and Thiago Santos.
