Quick vid: UFC champ Conor McGregor still enjoying that 2-belt life

Conor McGregor technically is champion of just one division, but the UFC megastar is still enjoying the two-belt life.

This past month, McGregor (21-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) became the fighter in UFC history to simultaneously hold two belts after dethroning lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez (28-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC). However, his run as both featherweight and lightweight champion lasted just a few weeks, and he was recently stripped of his 145-pound title.

McGregor, though, is still toting both belts. He today posted a video of himself boarding a private jet with a strap on each shoulder (via Instagram):

Following his UFC 205 title win, McGregor, who’s No. 1 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA lightweight rankings, suggested he’s taking some time off – while also pushing for equity in the UFC.

However, soon after he announced his post-event plans, the UFC stripped McGregor of the featherweight belt. Interim champ Jose Aldo was promoted to the division’s primary titleholder, and Max Holloway (16-3 MMA, 12-3 UFC) and Anthony Pettis (19-5 MMA, 6-4 UFC) fight for an interim belt in Saturday’s UFC 206 headliner.

As for the lightweight belt, the rest of the division will have to wait for McGregor’s eventual return.
