Conor McGregor Granted Boxing License | MMAWeekly.com

Conor McGregor may currently be sidelined, attending to his girlfriend, as they are expecting their first child, but it doesn’t mean the brash Irishman isn’t making some interesting moves.

Conor-McGregor-UFC-202-750-03aMcGregor isn’t expected to set foot in the Octagon again until at least May, but is it possible that the UFC recently forcing him to vacate the featherweight championship pushed him a step too far? That’s certainly an assumption that is sure to make the rounds after news on Wednesday that McGregor applied for and received a boxing license in California.

Andy Foster, the executive director for the California State Athletic Commission, confirmed McGregor’s boxing license to MMAWeekly.com on Wednesday, following an initial report by MMAFighting.com.

It’s unclear why McGregor wanted a boxing license in California, but it’s sure to fan the flames of the longstanding rumor that he might eventually step in the boxing ring with retired world champion Floyd Mayweather.

That is merely speculation, however, as neither McGregor nor Mayweather has recently rekindled the talk of a superfight between the two. Until McGregor addresses his boxing license, we’re left to wonder what he’s up to, and if it will affect his UFC status.
