Roger Gracie to Fight Michael Pasternak for Inaugural ONE Light Heavyweight Belt

ONE: Ascent to Power is set for the Singapore Indoor Stadium on May 6 and will be headlined by a bout between Angela Lee and Mei Yamaguchi with the inaugural women’s atomweight title on the line.

A slight reshuffle to the card sees the fight between Roger Gracie and Michael Pasternak promoted to co-main event status. The promotion announced today that the winner of this bout would earn the right to call themselves the ONE Championship light heavyweight champion.

Gracie (7-2) is a ten-time BJJ world champion and a UFC and Strikeforce veteran. Despite his outstanding grappling credentials, he showcased some impressive striking to stop James McSweeney with a third-round TKO on his ONE Championship debut.

Pasternak (11-0) is also coming off a successful ONE Championship debut, although he suffered a serious knee injury during his decision win over Rafael Silva and has been out of action for over a year.

Vitaly Bigdash suffered an unspecified injury in training and his middleweight title bout with fellow Russian Aleksei Butorin has been postponed.
