UFC 197 workout highlights: Jones sits out, Cejudo dances between drills

LAS VEGAS – Former UFC light heavyweight tittle holder Jon Jones was greeted like a champion today in Las Vegas, and while he declined to workout as scheduled, he did sign autographs and take pictures with hundreds of gathered fans.

Jones (21-1 MMA, 15-1 UFC) hasn’t fought since January 2015, but the crowd gave him a rousing welcome at today’s UFC 197 open workout session at MGM Grand Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. “Bones” takes on Ovince Saint Preux (19-7 MMA, 7-2 UFC) for the UFC’s vacant interim light heavyweight belt in the main event of UFC 197, which takes place Saturday at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

The night’s co-feature sees UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson (23-2-1 MMA, 11-1-1 UFC) put his belt on the line against Olympic gold medal winner Henry Cejudo (10-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC). The challenger seemed relaxed ahead of the contest, taking time out to request some salsa music from DJ AL3 before showing a few of his best dance moves.

Check out some of the highlights from the four fighters at the top of the bill during their scheduled workouts for fans and the media. Plus, hear from them all about Saturday’s card, which takes place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and and airs on pay-per-view and FOX Sports 1 and streams on UFC Fight Pass.
