Cage Warriors 75 results: Middleweight champ Jack Hermansson stops Alan Carlos in third

Cage Warriors middleweight champion Jack Hermansson (12-2) earned his seventh consecutive victory and remained perfect under the promotional banner by stopping Brazilian submission artist Alan Carlos (12-9) with a third-round knockout.

The bout served as the headlining contest of Friday’s Cage Warriors 75 event, which took place at London’s Camden Centre and streamed live on UFC Fight Pass.

Hermansson moved well in the opening frame, bouncing in and out of range and firing punches as he moved. The pattern continued in the second, as Hermansson’s speed and movement proved superior. His jab was crisp, and he chopped at the lead leg, as well. Carlos looked to return fire but simply allowed his opponent to be first on the trigger over and over again.

Late in the frame, Carlos landed a big left and, and Hermansson wound up shooting inside. Carlos took advantage of the time on the floor, nearly locking in a sneaky arm-triangle choke before turning to the legs, though he wasn’t able to secure the finish before the bell.

Hermansson went back to work in the third, remaining upright and using a jab to score points against a more stationary Carlos. Hermansson’s offense went largely unchecked, and as the round started to wind down, he unleashed a few big right hands that send Carlos crashing to the floor.

In the night’s co-feature, 21-year-old featherweight Paddy Pimblett (10-1) dominated Ashleigh Grimshaw (16-10-1) over the course of three rounds en route to a unanimous decision win, 30-27 on all three cards. Now boasting a six-fight winning streak, the Englishman proclaimed his willingness to face – and bet – any opponent in any organization.

An action-packed undercard featured four first-stoppages.
