Johny Hendricks and Stephen Thompson

UFC Fight Night 82’s main event featured a clash of two top welterweights as Stephen Thompson and Johny Hendricks met at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena.

In the end it was Thompson (12-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) who emerged victorious when he handed former UFC champ Hendricks (17-4 MMA, 12-4 UFC) his first stoppage loss in the form of a first-round knockout.

“Wonderboy” improved his winning streak to six fights with the finish of “Bigg Rigg” and now holds the longest active winning streak in the 170-pound division.
