UFC Fight Night 81: Travis Browne vs. Matt Mitrione video highlights

When MMA fans look back on Travis Browne’s win over Matt Mitrione, it will likely be Mitrione’s eye that sticks in the memory. A thudding punch from Browne caused grotesque swelling over Mitrione’s right eye.

For Browne, however, the focus will be on the third round TKO victory.

The heavyweight bout was part of the main card of the UFC Fight Night 81 event at TD Garden in Boston. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Browne (18-3-1 MMA, 9-3-1 UFC) connected with a pair of eye pokes in the first two rounds which seemed to throw Mitrione (9-5 MMA, 9-5 UFC) off his game early on. But it was the big punch that damaged Mitrione’s eye worst and led to the mount and finish at the 4:09 mark of Round 3.
