Jimi Manuwa Returns at UFC Fight Night 83 in London

Britain’s Jimi Manuwa will return to fight in front of his home fans next year, as he takes on Ukraine’s Nikita Krylov at UFC FIGHT NIGHT LONDON.

The No.9 ranked UFC light heavyweight, Manuwa (15-2) is one of the most explosive fighters in the UFC’s 205-pound division, boasting world class knockout power.

Jimi Manuwa UFC London weigh-inBorn in Sacramento, Calif., Manuwa lives and trains in Croydon, South London. A favorite amongst British MMA fans, it was Manuwa himself who headlined UFC’s last event in the English capital back in March 2014.

Now preparing to step out in front of home fans once again, Manuwa is determined to give the O2 Arena crowd something to cheer about on Feb. 27.

Manuwa’s opponent, meanwhile, is arguably one of the most exciting European prospects on the UFC’s current roster. Born and raised in Ukraine, Krylov (19-4-0, fighting out of Donetsk, Ukraine) comes into the fight on the back of a phenomenal three-fight winning streak. With each of those victories coming via knockout or submission in the first round, Krylov will undoubtedly be looking to upset British fans on the night, and make this a fourth consecutive first round finish.

UFC FIGHT NIGHT LONDON will feature a host of British fighting talent including the No.7 ranked UFC middleweight Michael Bisping, who takes on the No.9 ranked Gegard Mousasi, in a bout which could see the winner propelled into the title conversation.

Birmingham’s Tom Breese, meanwhile, will also be in action against Japan’s Keita Nakamura, as will Londoner Brad Pickett, who faces Henry Briones. Finalist of UFC’s reality TV show The Ultimate Fighter, Davey Grant, also returns to action in London after almost two years on the sidelines due to injury. A favorite amongst fans, family man Grant will take on Marlon Vera on the night.

Tickets to UFC FIGHT NIGHT LONDON sold out in just 27 minutes, demonstrating the overwhelming demand from British fans for live UFC action. For those fans who missed the chance to secure tickets, the event can be watched live on UFC’s digital subscription service, UFC Fight Pass.
