The reaction from the MMA world to Ronda Rousey’s knockout loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 proves that many were not thrilled with the former champion’s attitude while wearing the belt.

Holm (10-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) battered Rousey (12-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) before knocking her out with a head kick at the 0:59 mark of Round 2.

The attitude of Holm since winning the title has been a welcome change for those who took issue with the brash nature of Rousey during her reign. Holm’s humble attitude has impressed because she has not engaged in post-fight trash talk, instead focusing on the inspirational and important role that Rousey played in bringing women’s MMA to the UFC and becoming a mainstream sensation.

During a Q&A session with The New York Times, Holm was asked how many times out of ten she would defeat Rousey and found a way to express her feelings of dominance in a way that remained extremely humble.

“Ten,” Holm stated. “Because if I tell myself that there is one that I might not get, then I’ll be vulnerable.

“I also know that I’m beatable, so I’m going to train twice as hard. She’s going to come back. She’s mad that it’s not her title anymore. I’ve got to be twice as ready as last time.”

There is no planned date or opponent for Holm’s first title defense though the idea of an immediate rematch has not been dismissed by the UFC or Holm.
