The lineup is set for next month’s UFC 191 event, and a strawweight bout kicks off the pay-per-view main card.
The 11-bout lineup takes place at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. Prior to the PPV main card, FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass carry the prelims.
In the headliner, longtime flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson (22-2-1 MMA, 10-1-1 UFC), who’s ranked No. 1 in the NOS Energy Drink MMA flyweight rankings (and No. 3 pound-for-pound), rematches No. 2-ranked John Dodson (17-6 MMA, 7-1 UFC).
Johnson and Dodson first fought in 2013 at UFC on FOX 6. “Mighty Mouse” made his first title defense after earning a unanimous-decision victory (via 49–46, 48–47 and 48–47 scores) in the headliner. Johnson, the first and only 125-pound champion in UFC history, now looks for his seventh consecutive title defense.
In the co-headliner, two resurgent ex-champs meet when No. 5-ranked heavyweight Andrei Arlovski (24-10 MMA, 13-4 UFC) takes on No. 11-ranked Frank Mir (18-9 MMA, 16-9 UFC). Arlovski hasn’t held the title since 2006, and Mir hasn’t held a belt since his interim championship in 2008, yet a title shot could be on the line in their bout.
Rounding out the main card are No. 3 light heavyweight Anthony Johnson (19-5 MMA, 10-5 UFC) vs. No. 15-ranked Jimi Manuwa (15-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC), light heavyweights Corey Anderson (5-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) vs. Jan Blachowicz (18-4 MMA, 1-1 UFC), and strawweights Paige VanZant (5-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) vs. Alex Chambers (5-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC).
The full UFC 191 lineup includes:
MAIN CARD (Pay-per-view, 10 p.m. ET)
PRELIMINARY CARD (FOX Sports 1, 8 p.m. ET)
