'UFC 188 Embedded,' No. 4: So, we're still bickering over Velasquez's Mexican status

It’s fight week, which brings “UFC 188 Embedded” and a preview of Saturday’s pay-per-view event.

The online series previews the event at Mexico City Arena in Mexico, including the main event: a heavyweight title-unification bout between champ Cain Velasquez (13-1 MMA, 11-1 UFC) and interim titleholder Fabricio Werdum (19-5-1 MMA, 7-2 UFC).

In the fourth episode, we return to a familiar topic of conversation: Is American-born Velasquez really a “Mexican” fighter?

The narrative has dominated the pre-fight buildup, and Velasquez’s coach, Javier Mendez, and Werdum aren’t ready to let it go (neither are online forums and comments sections, it seems). Velasquez’s teammate, Daniel Cormier, tries to play peacemaker in this episode, but Luke Rockhold (and Velasquez) seem to be having none of it.

Check out the full episode, which also includes open-workout footage and some fighter gifts, above.
