Photo: Yick! Here's the cut that forced Michael Page off Friday's Bellator 134 card

Well, this certainly explains why Michael Page was forced off Friday’s Bellator 134 card.

As we reported on Monday, the highly touted Page (7-0 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) was forced off the card and replaced Brennan Ward (9-3 MMA, 5-3 BMMA), who now meets welterweight Curtis Millender (7-0 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) on Bellator 134’s main card.

The reported reason for the withdrawal? A cut. Now, Page has posted photo proof (via Twitter).

The laceration wraps around Page’s left eye and required stitches. Due to its unfortunate placement, Page stood virtually no chance of getting medically cleared for the bout even if he wanted to try to fight.

The cut was another setback for Friday’s card, which airs on Spike TV from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. Originally dubbed “British Invasion,” the main card has undergone numerous changes now looks little like the original version.

Page, a 27-year-old English kickboxer with a flashy striking game, has posted six stoppages in seven career fights. In his most recent bout, he defeated Nah-Shon Burrell at Bellator 128 and went to a decision for the first time.
