While the UFC will in May visit the Philippines for the first time, ONE FC has been hosting events in the region since 2012, drawing between 12,000 and nearly 18,000 fans for each of four shows.
With 100 million residents, the Philippines is actually the world’s 12th-most populous country and has long embraced combat sports. So what can the UFC expect to find when it travels to Manila on May 15 for UFC Fight Night 65? Current ONE FC welterweight champion Ben Askren (14-0) and women’s flyweight contender Ana Julaton (2-1) offer their opinions.
