Benson Henderson was a winning machine when he first arrived in the UFC.
But there was just one problem, his critics said: He wasn’t finishing anyone.
Henderson shut those critics up this past June when he submitted Rustam Khabilov in the main event of UFC Fight Night 42 in Albuquerque. After seven eight wins in the UFC, “Smooth” finally had a UFC stoppage.
Now Henderson (21-5 MMA, 9-3 UFC) is mired in a two-fight skid. In August, he was stopped by Rafael dos Anjos. And last month in Boston, he dropped a close decision to Donald Cerrone. He’ll attempt to get back on track following the first back-to-back losses of his career when he takes on (11-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) next week in the main event of UFC Fight Night 60.
Henderson filled in on short notice for Stephen Thompson against Thatch. Can he get another finish inside the octagon? UFC Fight Night 60 takes place at 1STBank Center in Broomfield, Colo. The main card airs on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on the same channel and UFC Fight Pass.
But before that fight, check out Henderson’s stoppage of Khabilov in the video above.
