Former WEC bantamweight champion Brian Bowles remains in jail after police arrested him Jan. 14 on multiple drug and weapon charges.

According to the Jackson County (Ga.) Sheriff’s Department’s Facebook page, Bowles and another woman were taken into custody after police showed up at his house on Stoner Road in Arcade, Ga., while attempting to serve an arrest warrant for an unknown female.

They didn’t find the woman, but they did find methamphetamine, diazepam (Valium) and marijuana, as well as guns, according to the post and jail records.

Police initiated a search after they discovered the woman with Bowles, Rhomney Marie Moon, 35, had an outstanding probation warrant.

Bowles, 34, remains in the Jackson County Jail. He is charged with seven crimes: possession of methamphetamine; possession of a schedule IV drug; possession of schedule IV drug with intent to sell; possession of marijuana; possession of marijuana with intent to sell; possession of tools for the commission of a crime; and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Bowles (10-3) still is listed as an active fighter on the UFC.com website, though he hasn’t fought for the promotion since May 2013, when he suffered a second-round TKO loss to George Roop at UFC 160.

He subsequently tested positive for elevated levels of testosterone, for which he received a nine-month suspension from the overseeing Nevada State Athletic Commission. He denied the use of performance-enhancing drugs.

Rory Singer, Bowles’ longtime trainer at the Hardcore Gym in Athens, Ga., told MMAjunkie on Tuesday the news is “unfortunate and it’s sad,” and declined any additional comment.
