Rashad Evans (that 'Cuba Gooding Jr.-looking motherf--ker') targets early-2015 return

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans, who hasn’t fought since November 2013, is currently targeting an early-2015 return.

UFC.com recently posted an update on the 34-year-old fighter, who’s recovering from a torn ACL he suffered while preparing for a UFC 170 bout against Daniel Cormier earlier this year.

Despite pulling out of the fight, Evans (19-3-1 MMA, 14-3-1 UFC), who’s riding back-to-back wins over Dan Henderson and Chael Sonnen, is still ranked No. 4 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA light heavyweight rankings.

Ahead of Evans’ upcoming return, the UFC has released a new “Fightography” special on UFC Fight Pass devoted to the former NCAA Division I wrestler and winner of “The Ultimate Fighter 2.” It includes a teaser video (watch it above) in which Evans discusses his first meeting with UFC President Dana White.

Back in 2005, Evans was a 5-0 pro who – despite his small stature – wanted to compete as a heavyweight on “TUF 2.” He admits that White, who dubbed him a “f–cking Cuba Gooding Jr.-looking motherf–ker,” tried to talk him out of it.

Check out Evans’ recollection of the conversation, including his White impersonation, above.
