If anyone thought Jon Jones was still trying to protect some sort of good-guy image, the events that transpired Monday at a UFC 178 media day in Las Vegas proved otherwise.
What started as a tense staredown between Jones (20-1 MMA, 14-1 UFC) and his rival, No. 1 contender Daniel Cormier (15-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC), quickly escalated into a full-fledged brawl that you can watch in its entirety right here.
If it wasn’t clear already, Jones and Cormier have a strong level of discontent for the each other, and moments after the mayhem came to an end, “Bones” took to his official Instagram and Twitter accounts to further taunt his upcoming foe.
Come on DC where was your takedown defense?—

To no surprise, Cormier didn’t sit back and let all the trash talk go in one direction. He took to his own social media accounts to provide a response to the reigning 205-pound champion.
"@JonnyBones: Come on DC where was your takedown defense?" I got some td def for you. Don't ever put ur dirty face on me again.—

Jones and Cormier will meet at UFC 178 on Sept. 27 in what has now undeniably transformed into one of the most anticipated championship bouts in UFC history. The event takes place inside Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena and will air live on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight pass.
