Joanna Jedrzejczyk: Juliana Lima 'wasn't nice at weigh-ins, and now she got beat up'

SAN JOSE – Joanna Jedrzejczyk wasn’t happy with her opponent at Friday’s UFC on FOX 12 weigh-ins, but she got the last laugh at Saturday’s event.

After a heated face-off at the weigh-in festivities, Jedrzejczyk (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) struggled a bit in the first round of her bout against fellow strawweight Juliana Lima (6-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC), which streamed on UFC Fight Pass from San Jose’s SAP Center. However, she took control in the final two frames to claim a unanimous-decision win.

After the fight, Jedrzejczyk, a 26-year-old Polish fighter and recent Cage Warriors fighter who remains unbeaten with her UFC-debut win, discussed her move to MMA and drop to 115 pounds.

She also made brief mention of that heated weigh-in.

“She wasn’t nice at the weigh-ins, but now she got beat up,” Jedrzejczyk said of Lima. “I think she’ll think about that.”
