Well, here’s a new one.
WSOF lightweight champion Justin Gaethje wants to lose to Nick Newell on Saturday.
Sort of.
Gaethje said that one of these days, he’s going to keep leaving his chin out and being aggressive, and someone’s gonna take his block off. And if that someone is Nick Newell in the WSOF 11 headliner, Gaethje said it sure would be great for Newell’s career in the long run.
But then again, Gaethje said he has every intention of keeping his title – he just hopes that when the curtains come down on WSOF 11, he and Newell have put on the best fight of the night.
Gaethje defends his 155-pound title for the first time against Newell at WSOF 11, which takes place at Ocean Center in Daytona, Fla. The four-fight main card airs on NBC starting at 4 p.m. ET.
