The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to Vancouver for UFC 174: Johnson vs. Bagautinov on Saturday. It was the promotion’s first trip to the British Columbian city in three years.

While the fights weren’t splashy – seven of the 11 bouts went to a decision – the event still drew 13,506 in attendance, producing $1.14 million in gate revenues.

Those numbers, however, are dwarfed by past UFC events in Vancouver.

UFC 131, which featured Junior dos Santos vs. Shane Carwin, drew 14,685 fans for a $2.8 million gate. The promotion’s first trip to Vancouver, UFC 115 featuring Chuck Liddell vs. Rich Franklin, did 17,669 fans for a gate of $4.2 million.

Prior to the event, UFC president Dana White said that he considered UFC 174 a success with a gate of over $1 million.

UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson headlined the card, defending his title with a masterful performance over Ali Bagautinov at Rogers Arena.
