World Series of Fighting 9 Medical Suspensions: Steve Carl Could Be Out for Six Months


Steve Carl WSOF 9 weigh a-478x270World Series of Fighting 9: Carl vs. Palhares took place on Saturday, March 29, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Steve Carl not only lost his WSOF welterweight belt to Rousimar Palhares in the night’s main event, but also landed a potentially lengthy medical suspension, according to the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

The NSAC on Monday released the WSOF 9 medical suspensions to MMAWeekly.com.

World Series of Fighting 9 Medical Suspensions

Steve Carl was suspended until Sept. 26 unless he has his right foot and ankle x-rayed and gets an MRI of his right knee, all of which must be cleared by an orthopedic doctor.

Josh Rettinghouse is suspended until April 29 with no contact prior to April 20.

Tyler Stinson is suspended until May 14 with no contact prior to April 29.

Ozzy Dugulubgov must have a CT scan of his brain and right orbital area. If he does not get that done by April 13, he must have an MRI of his brain and get clearance on the possible right orbital fracture. He faces a minimum suspension of May 29 with contact prior to May 14.

John Gunderson was suspended until April 29 with no contact prior to April 20.

Sean Cantor was suspended until April 14 with no contact prior to April 6.

Phil Dace was suspended until April 14 with no contact prior to April 6.

Gil Guardado was suspended until April 13 with no contact prior to April 9.
