UFC 171: Presser and Bonus Recap

Several fighters joined UFC president Dana White at the UFC 171 post-fight press conference: Johny Hendricks, Robbie Lawler, Tyron Woodley, Ovince Saint Preux, Hector Lombard, Dennis Bermudez, Myles Jury, and Kelvin Gastelum

Hendricks and Lawler, who battled it out over five rounds, were awarded Fight of the Night for their fight for the vacant welterweight title. The pair combined for 308 significant strikes, a new UFC title fight record surpassing Jones vs. Gustafsson (244). Hendricks landed 158 of those significant strikes, the 4th most ever landed by a welterweight in a single fight.

Performance of the Night was awarded to Dennis Bermudez and Ovince Saint Preux. Bermudez won his sixth straight fight with his third round TKO of Jimmy Hettes. Preux secured the 4th fastest in light heavyweight history (205 lbs.) with his stoppage of Nikita Krylov at the 1:29 mark of the first round.

Each winner will be awarded $50,000.
