Cage Warriors 67 adds nine bouts, including Martin McDonough-Shaj Haque

martin-mcdonough.jpgCage Warriors’ return to Wales has bolstered its card with nine new fights, including a bantamweight standout dropping to flyweight for the first time.

Martin McDonough (11-4) will drop to 125 pounds to meet Shaj Haque (4-1) at Cage Warriors 67 next month. And a notable lightweight bout between Sean Carter (8-1) and Wesley Murch (13-7) also is set for the show. In addition, Cage Warriors has added seven other fights to the card.

Cage Warriors 67 takes place April 12 at The LC in Swansea, Wales. The main card will stream on MMAjunkie following prelims on Cage Warriors’ Facebook page.

McDonough went 3-0 in the Cage Warriors bantamweight division. Overall, he has five straight wins since a decision loss to James Brum in October 2011. (Brum headlines the Cage Warriors 67 show, challenging for the bantamweight title against champ Brett Johns.) McDonough, who will be fighting in front of his home fans in Wales, has all 11 of his wins by stoppage, including seven submissions.

In December, Haque rebounded from the first loss of his career when he beat Mark Connor by decision to improve to 3-1 under the Cage Warriors banner. All four of the Brit’s wins have come by decision.

Carter also got back on track in December after his first career loss when he submitted Myles Price in the first round at Cage Warriors 63. Prior to that, at Cage Warriors 60, he was stopped by rear-naked choke against Steven Ray to have the 7-0 start to his career snapped. He’s 4-1 under the Cage Warriors banner and has six of his eight wins by submission.

Murch will be looking to rebound from a loss in December at Cage Warriors 62, when he was submitted in just 49 seconds by Curt Warburton in his promotional debut. Prior to that, he had a four-fight winning streak. The Brit has 12 of his 13 career wins by stoppage, including eight submissions.

With the additions, the current Cage Warriors 67 card includes:
