Champ Jon Jones on Dana White, UFC sponsorships, Cormier, heavyweight future

“At the end of the day, Dana (White), he has a business here. It was his vision, and he owes it to himself to make as much money as he can, and it seems like that’s what he’s doing.”

That’s how UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones responded when MMAjunkie recently visited to Team Jackson-Winkeljohn in New Mexico to ask him about a variety of topics, including the state of UFC sponsorships.

“I’m happy where I’m at,” the Nike-sponsored fighter said. “I’ve worked really hard to get where I’m at, and it’s just part of the life cycle. It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there, and you’ve just got to go get it.”

Check out the full conversation above, which also includes Jones’ thoughts on Daniel Cormier (and his “inspirational” weight loss), Patrick Cummins and a potential future at heavyweight.

And catch Jones (19-1 MMA, 13-1 UFC) in action on April 26 when he meets Glover Teixeira (22-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) in UFC 172's pay-per-view headliner.
