UFC officials Tuesday announced the bookings, which will precede a previously announced heavyweight headliner between Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Roy Nelson. UFC Fight Night 40 takes place April 11 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
The event will also see Polish heavyweight Daniel Omielanczuk square off with once-beaten American Jared Rosholt, while Andrew Craig collides with Chris Camozzi at 185 pounds. Former WEC title contender Rani Yahya will return to the bantamweight division against “TUF 14,” alum Johnny Bedford, and flyweight prospect Alptekin Ozkilic will tangle with Tachi Palace Fights alumnus Dustin Ortiz.
Additionally, “TUF 13” runner-up Ramsey Nijem will lock horns with unbeaten Californian Beneil Dariush at 155 pounds, and Ryan LaFlare puts his undefeated record on the line against fellow welterweight John Howard. The event will also see Jim Alers collide with Alan Omer at featherweight, while Trevor Smith battles former title challenger Thales Leites at 185 pounds.
