Video: Miesha Tate and ‘Cyborg’ may unite ahead of Ronda Rousey bout

Although the holidays and travel schedules may nix the plans, Miesha Tate is hoping to work with “Cyborg,” aka Cristiane Justino, ahead of her rematch with UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey later this month.

Tate, a guest on Friday’s edition of “Inside MMA” on AXS TV, discussed her preparations for the UFC 168 co-headliner, which airs on pay-per-view from Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena on Dec. 28.

Tate (13-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC), who coached opposite Rousey (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) on the recently concluded 18th season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” hopes to avenge a previous loss to her rival. And she thinks “Cyborg” (12-1) could help the cause.

“We’re working on it,” Tate said. “The problem is that she was traveling to Brazil, so I felt bad asking her to come back before Christmas. She was going to spend that with her family, so it’s kind of up to her.

“But of course I’d love have her. I think she’s the best woman (fighter) on this planet. So if she wants to come in and help me with my camp, she’s always welcome.”

Oh, and there’s that other thing.

“And that fact she doesn’t like Ronda is a bonus,” Tate said with a laugh.
