Friends and Family Saying Goodbye as UFC Fighter Shane del Rosario Nears Death

Shane Del RosarioUFC heavyweight Shane del Rosario appears to be in the final hours of his life after being rushed to a Southern California hospital Tuesday morning in full cardiac arrest.

Jason House, del Rosario’s manager, in a statement to reporter Ariel Helwani, said that doctor’s are waiting a full 72 hours before making any definitive declarations about del Rosario’s status, but advised his family and friends to say their goodbyes on Thursday.

The treatment del Rosario received involved cooling his body to try and revitalize his organs and brain activity. Thus far, he has not responded to the treatment and he has no brain activity, according to House’s comments.

By all accounts, it would take nothing short of a miracle for del Rosario to survive this tragedy.

Social media sites were flooded with goodbyes and “rest in peace” messages on Thanksgiving Day, many people wishing del Rosario a peaceful passing, and reminders to the rest of us not to let a moment pass.

“Time goes by so fast, people go in and out of your life,” House wrote on Twitter. “Don’t miss the opportunity to tell these people how much they mean to you.”
