Canadian welterweight Ryan Dickson, a 24-year-old cancer survivor, has replaced an injured Ryan Chiappe and now meets Marcus Vinicius at next month’s “World Series of Fighting 7: Karakhanyan vs. Palmer” event.
WSOF officials recently announced the change.
Dickson (6-1) and Vinicius (9-6) now meet on the MMAjunkie.com-streamed preliminary card of the Dec. 7 event, which takes place at PNE Agrodome in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and precedes the night’s four-fight NBC Sports Network-televised main card.
Dickson is a welterweight prospect with an impressive 6-1 mark that includes six stoppage wins. However, his most important victory to date took place earlier this year outside of the cage, as he defeated testicular cancer that was identified during the medicals required for his licensing process.
Meanwhile, Vinicus is a Brazilian native now residing in Canada. A capoeira stylist, “Ossoduro” is 4-2 in his past six fights and boasts seven stoppage wins among his nine career victories.
With the changes to the card, the WSOF 7 lineup now includes:
