UFC heads to Georgia with Cole Miller vs. Sam Sicilia, T.J. Dillahaw vs. Mike Easton

cole-miller-11.jpgThe UFC returns to Georgia for the fifth time in company history for a Jan. 15 FOX Sports 1-televised UFC Fight Night event that takes place at Duluth’s Arena at Gwinnett Center.

UFC officials recently announced the Atlanta-area fight card, expected to serve as UFC Fight Night 35, and that tickets for the event will go on sale on Dec. 6.

Further details, including the night’s main event, are expected to be announced shortly, though two fights are already booked for the card with featherweights Cole Miller vs. Sam Sicilia and bantamweights T.J. Dillashaw vs. Mike Easton.

“Magrinho” Miller (20-8 MMA, 9-6 UFC), a Georgia native, returns to action following an impressive October win over Andy Ogle. After the victory, Miller famously called out “Colin McGoober,” however he’ll instead settle for Sicilia and look for his first two-fight UFC winning streak since 2010.

Sicilia (12-3 MMA, 2-2 UFC( earns a quick booking after needing less than two minutes to dispatch of Godofredo Pepey at last week’s UFC Fight Night 32 event in Brazil. The much-needed result snapped a two-fight losing streak for the former cast member of “The Ultimate Fighter 15.”

Dillashaw (8-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC), a finalist on “The Ultimate Fighter 14,” is currently ranked No. 11 in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie bantamweight MMA rankings. He’ll look to erase the sting of an October loss to top contender Raphael Assuncao, a defeat that saw Dillashaw have a four-fight winning streak snapped.

Meanwhile, Easton (13-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC), who sits at No. 13 in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie bantamweight MMA rankings, started his UFC career with wins over Ivan Menjivar, Jared Papazian and Byron Bloodworth. However, he’s since dropped consecutive decisions to Brad Pickett and Raphael Assuncao and is in need of a win.
