Bellator 106 Fight Card Undergoes Further Changes: Parisyan Out, Etim vs. Cenoble Moved

Bellator Chandler vs Alvarez II PosterAlthough not as notable as Tito Ortiz’s injury forcing him out of his Bellator 106 main event bout with Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Karo Parisyan has also been forced off of Saturday’s fight card due to injury.

Bellator officials announced Parisyan’s withdrawal on Monday, but did not disclose the nature of his injury.

Stepping in for Parisyan is Alejandro Garcia. Garcia (14-5) squares off against Cristiano Santos (6-0) on the preliminary portion of the fight card.

Other changes to the card include the removal of the Heavyweight Tournament Final between Cheick Kongo and Vinicius “Spartan” Queiroz. That bout was going to take place on Nov. 8, but Queiroz fell out due to injury.

Another preliminary bout that donned the Bellator 106 fight card when it was slated for pay-per-view was Terry Etim vs. Patrick Cenoble. That bout, according to Bellator officials, has also been removed and will take place at an as-yet-to-be-named future event.

The Bellator 106 event, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Long Beach Arena in Long Beach, Calif., was originally slated to be the promotion’s first pay-per-view offering. Following Ortiz’s injury, however, the decision was made to nix those plans and move the broadcast to free television on Spike TV.
