'UFC 167 Primetime: St-Pierre vs. Hendricks' debuts next week on FOX Sports 1

georges-st-pierre-39.jpgThe UFC’s popular “Primetime” series returns next week with the debut of “UFC 167 Primetime: St-Pierre vs. Hendricks.”

The series will focus on the long-awaited title fight between UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre (24-2 MMA, 18-2 UFC) and hard-hitting challenger Johny Hendricks (15-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC). St-Pierre currently is ranked No. 1 and Hendricks No. 2 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie.com MMA welterweight rankings. Additionally, St-Pierre is No. 2 and Hendricks No. 10 in the pound-for-pound rankings.

The first, 30-minute episode of the three-part series is scheduled to air on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 8:30 p.m. ET, with subsequent episodes airing in the following weeks. Replays will also be featured on FOX Sports 2.

“UFC 167 Primetime: St-Pierre vs. Hendricks” marks the 14th edition of the series, which features documentary-style behind-the-scenes footage of pay-per-view headliners in the days leading up to their fights and is edited together close enough to air dates that viewers often see what the fighters have been doing just a couple of days prior.

The UFC most recently featured a “Primetime” special for UFC 166, which took place earlier this month and saw UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez defeat former champ Junior dos Santos in the night’s main event. Prior to that, UFC 157 in February had the series previewing Ronda Rousey‘s UFC debut against Liz Carmouche.

“UFC 167: St-Pierre vs. Hendricks” takes place Nov. 16 at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. The evening’s main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims that air on FOX Sports 1 and stream on Facebook. The latest edition of “Primetime” marks the challenger’s debut in the series, while St-Pierre was also featured four times previously ahead of his bouts with Carlos Condit, Jake Shields, Dan Hardy and B.J. Penn.

The full UFC 167 lineup includes:

MAIN CARD (Pay-per-view, 10 p.m. ET)

PRELIMINARY CARD (FOX Sports 1, 8 p.m. ET)

PRELIMINARY CARD (MMAjunkie.com, 6:45 p.m. ET)
