Anthony Njokuani Out with Injury, Al Iaquinta Now Faces Piotr Hallmann at UFC Fight Night 30

Njokuani460UFC lightweight Anthony Njokuani was scheduled to face Paul Taylor at UFC Fight Night 30, but an injury forced Taylor out of the fight.

Injuries have plagued Taylor’s career, keeping him out of competition for more than two years.  After having to withdraw from another scheduled fight, Taylor retired from fighting.

UFC officials announced on Thursday that Njokuani is now also off the Oct. 26 fight card due to injury.

Al Iaquinta replaced Taylor and now faces Piotr Hallmann at the Phones 4u Arena in Manchester, England.

Hallmann (14-1) made his Octagon debut at UFC Fight Night 28 on Sept. 4, defeating Francisco Trinaldo by submission.  The Polish lightweight is on a ten-fight winning streak.

Iaquinta (6-2-1) appeared on The Ultimate Fighter 15, advancing to the finals, but lost to eventual winner Michael Chiesa.  The 26-year-old defeated Ryan Couture in his last outing at UFC 164.

UFC Fight Night 30 is headlined by a middleweight bout between contenders Michael Bisping and Mark Munoz.  The event will air live on Fox Sports 2.
