Canadian middleweight Nick Ring will fight for the second time in Australia under the UFC banner when he faces Brazilian Caio Magalhaes at UFC Fight Night 33 on Dec. 7 (Dec. 6 in the U.S.) in Brisbane, Australia.
UFC officials confirmed the fight on Sunday morning.
Ring (13-2) comes into the clash having lost two of his past three UFC bouts, but boasts a victory over Court McGee at UFC 149.
Magalhaes (6-1), nicknamed “Hellboy,” is 25 years old and holds a 1-1 record in the UFC. The BJJ black belt will be looking to extend his winning streak against “The Promise.”
The fight is expected to take place on the preliminary card, with the show stacked with Australian and New Zealand fighters. It will be the first time that the UFC has held a show in Brisbane.
Headlining the December card is a heavyweight clash between Mark Hunt and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva with James Te Huna vs. Shogun Rua confirmed as the co-main event.
