UFC Fight for the Troops 3 Gains Derek Brunson vs. Antonio Braga Neto Bout

Ufc LogoThe UFC Fight for the Troops 3 fight card is starting to fill up fast. The latest addition is a middleweight bout pitting Derek Brunson against Antonio Braga Neto.

UFC officials announced the bout on Monday.

Brunson (10-2) fought his way up through the Strikeforce Challengers cards to earn a bout with Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza. He suffered a knockout loss to Jacare, but was still invited to make the jump to the Octagon.

Brunson righted the ship with a unanimous decision victory over Chris Leben at UFC 155 in December. He was supposed to follow that victory up by facing Yoel Romero at UFC 164, but an injury forced him out. He’ll now step in with Neto for his second UFC bout.

Neto (9-1, 1 no contest) is should prove to be a tough test, however, as he is currently on a four-fight winning streak. That includes his UFC debut, which was a first-round kneebar submission of Anthony Smith.

A five-round middleweight bout between Lyoto Machida and Tim Kennedy headlines the UFC Fight for the Troops 3 event on Nov. 6 in Fort Campbell, Ky.
