Round 1: Carmont works to establish his jab early.  They exchange outside leg kicks.  Carmont changes levels and takes Philippou down.  Philippou works his way over to the cage.  Carmont lands left hands.  Philippou hangs on from the bottom.  Carmont lands an elbow.  Phillipou looks for an arm bar.  Carmont steps over and ends up in side control.  He moves to a North-South position.  Philippou works his way back to half guard and then full guard.  Carmont lands a few hammer fists.  He advances to side control.  Philippou gets back to full guard.  Philippou goes from an oma plata.  He switches to an arm bar at the bell.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Carmont.
