Ryan Jimmo vs. Jimi Manuwa added to UFC Fight Night 30

jimi-manuwa-5.jpgA light heavyweight matchup that should provide fireworks is on tap for UFC Fight Night 30.

Jimi Manuwa (13-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) and Ryan Jimmo (18-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) are the latest additions to the card, which takes place Oct. 26 at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.

It’s unknown whether the fight, which was first reported by MMAFighting.com, will serve on the Facebook-streamed preliminary-card or the FOX Sports 2-televised main card.

U.K. native Manuwa hopes to earn his third straight UFC win after battering Kyle Kingsbury at UFC on FUEL TV 5 and then winning a TKO over Cyrille Diabate when a torn calf muscle forced the French fighter to retire at UFC on FUEL TV 7.

The hard-slugging Manuwa remains undefeated at 13-0.

After a lackluster decision over Igor Pokrajac at UFC 161, Jimmo could use a career boost. The Canadian made a huge splash in his UFC debut when he knocked out Anthony Perosh in seven seconds, but stumbled against James Te Huna at UFC on FUEL TV 7.

Prior to the gaffes, Jimmo hadn’t lost a fight since his professional debut in 2007 and was a dominant champ in the Canada-based Maximum Fighting Championship.

The winner of the fight could be poised to crack the top-10 of the 205-pound division.
