Big Country gets Big Deal: Roy Nelson signs 9 fight contract

The holdout is now over and Roy “Big Country” Nelson looks to be an octagon mainstay for years to come on the heels of his reported 9 fight contract that was finalized earlier this week. Financial figures were not announced due to confidentiality provisions of the mega-contract, but it ensures that the 37 year old Nelson (19-8) will be lurking on the UFC heavyweight scene into his 40’s.

First up will be a long awaited matchup against the undefeated Daniel Cormier (12-0) as the co-main event at UFC 166 on October 19^th at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
