Video: How a Walmart dog leash helped launch the Legacy FC promotion

Legacy Fighting Championship hosts its 21st pro event on Friday and has already emerged as one of MMA’s top regional promotions, but it wasn’t always smooth sailing.

In a new video about Leagacy’s founding, founder and promoter Mick Maynard discusses how a dog leash from Walmart played a key role in his first MMA event. Check out the video above.

And catch Legacy FC 21 on Friday at Houston’s Arena Theater. The event’s main card airs on AXS TV at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. The event features two title fights and the promotional debut of former pro boxer Holly Holm.
